Golden Goose was established by Mrs Rethabile Gladys Maimane in 2003 as a home-based catering and cake-decorating service. A diversified product range was later introduced in 2010, and “Motoho”, a soft porridge made of fermented sorghum, became the enterprise’s key product.
Golden Goose produces its raw materials (sorghum) from the farm to ensure the safety and quality of the production, as well as a reliable supply of the ingredients. The product is produced using the auto-mated production system with a capacity of 3000L per batch. The ideal of broadening participation in agricultural, grain, and agro-processing sectors, still dominated by a few market players unrepresentative of the country’s demographics, as well as the current COVID 19 pandemic make it imperative for the enterprise to seek to improve its capacity to be able to make a meaningful contribution towards food security and employment in the country.
It is in this spirit that the enterprise solicits building business relationships in African countries towards food security and employment in the communities. The enterprise to seek to improve its business partnerships to be able to make a meaningful contribution towards playing a meaningful role in the broader agricultural food market, grain, and agro-processing sectors.
